First of all, let me say that those on here that are blaming the owner are completely out of line and I’m a bit embarrassed for you to feel that is okay. For a dog to not like being bathed or groomed is extremely common and is absolutely in no way a gigantic red flag. I’ve worked in animal rescue and advocacy for over 15 years. I had no clue there was such a thing as cage dryers until about 10 years ago. When I found out about them, the next time I took my dog into a Petsmart I inquired about their dryers. To be blunt, they lie. They assured me that all their stores had removed the heating element from their dryers several previous. When I then asked to be taken in the back so that I could look at the dryers, I was refused. It was at that point that I took my dog and left.
In regards to the stress the groomers are under due to the overbooking and expectations of management; If I wee a groomer and recognized that something like that was occurring I would open my mouth and voice that to management, in no uncertain terms that they are jeopardizing lives. If the issue was not corrected immediately, I would absolutely leave my employment there and then I would get louder to people who will listen, such as the press. If you know this is going on, it is your responsibility to do the right thing and SPEAK UP! Make people aware of what’s going on. By staying there and being complacent you are contributing to the problem!
